“Because Jesus is Christ, the Lord, I will follow him wherever he goes
without a second thought as to what I have left behind or what might lie ahead.”

As a child I remember my Dad receiving a call into the ministry. Mom and Dad explained it as a calling from God.  A calling to spread His word.  So my Dad left his comfortable life, being a principal in a small town in Kansas, and moved to St. Louis, MO to study at the seminary and prepare to enter the ministry.
Many times I’ve thought about how God spoke to my father and ask myself “how did he know that he was suppose to give up everything to go into the ministry?”
Now I know…
I think about the stories in the Bible where the disciples were called to follow Jesus.  These stories are shocking, in part, because the disciples left everything behind –
not just their nets and their boats, but their very livelihoods, and their homes and friends and families – all to follow after Jesus.
Now I know…
Two months ago I received the calling.  Through His wondrous acts and ways, God has called me to follow Him.  To leave everything behind, my job, my friends, my livelihood, to go where He wants me to go.  God has called me to share His love and wisdom to those who may not yet know Him or His love. So, in two months I will leave everything behind without hesitation and be obedient to follow Him and go to Uganda, Africa.  My calling. I know…
While in Uganda I will be working with several organizations.  One being “I Am More Than” a non-profit organization that aims to restore hope, freedom and faith to sexually abused and human trafficked teen girls while playing a significant role in eradicating trafficking worldwide. I will be working to educate the rescued girls by teaching them how to read and write therefore helping them transition back into a healthy faith filled life.  I will also share God’s love with each girl, letting each one know how valued and loved they are. While there I will also volunteer in several orphanages, delivering children’s clothing, participating in service projects, and spreading love and joy to the children.  I have a passion to reach those children that may have never felt loved, God’s love, and show them how it feels to be loved.  I have promised to be God’s vessel, His hands and feet, so while there I will listen closely to His still small voice and follow whatever, and wherever He is calling me.  I feel humbled to know that God has chosen me.
I am so excited to share "Through My Eyes" how God is using me in Uganda.  I know that not only will God use me to touch others with His love but also I will be touched and moved in so many ways.  I am humbled with how much God has blessed me, the doors He has opened for me and the support I am receiving.  This is a mission for Him, my Father.  "I will because You say so!"
